HOW TO
GET TO THE SKIERS LODGE LA
GRAVE
La Grave is situated
in the Hautes Alpes region of France and is nestled at the foot of La Meije.
Straddling the Route National 91 some 75 km east of Grenoble with Briancon
32 km to the east. It is on the northern boundary of the largest National
Parc in France, `Le Parc des Ecrins´.
Unless you are `Self driving´ each week commences in Grenoble where
you are picked up by one of our friendly `Team Chaumine Members´ and
driven 1 1/2 hours into the Alpes to the Lodge, arriving in time for a four
course evening meal, served nightly.

By
Road:
From Grenoble take the RN91 direction Briancon
and Gap. After approx. 15 km the road splits. Stay
on the RN91 direction Briancon. Grenoble to LA GRAVE is 77 km and takes approx.
1 1/2 hours. Pass through LA GRAVE and you will enter a
tunnel.........immediately the tunnel ends, turn right, direction Chazelet.
The road winds up for 3 km where you will see LA CHAUMINE on your
right.
By
Rail:
Grenoble is serviced by the French TGV (fast train) from Paris (3 hours),
Geneva (1 1/2 hours). We can arrange to pick you up from Grenoble Station,
please refer to "Grenoble Transfer" below.
By
Air:
Although Grenoble Airport is the nearest the most convenient for clients
are Lyon and Geneva which both have good bus (Lyon) and train (Geneva) services
to Grenoble Train Station.
Grenoble
Transfer:
With the increase of clients this year, we will only be able to effect transfers
to and from Grenoble Station on Saturdays. We will have a mini bus available
at 1800 hrs each Saturday to pick up our incoming guests. For your own
convenience, please arrange your planes/trains to coincide with this
time.
If you require a transfer to Grenoble at the end of your stay with
us,
please advise us of your schedules. We will arrange a mini bus to take you,
and any other guests, to Grenoble at a time most suitable to meet all your
time schedules.
The transfer charge to/from Grenoble Station is Euro 35 per person each
way.
Should you require assistance with timetables etc. for transport within France,
we will be pleased to help.
Local Bus
Transport:
For your further information, there is a limited daily bus service from Grenoble
Station to LA GRAVE and vice versa. Times are approx. as follows:
Grenoble to LA GRAVE 0800 hrs
LA GRAVE to Grenoble1600 hrs
Transit time: 1 hr 45 minsCost approx. Euro 15
